Seven people were taken to the hospital Monday after a 17-year-old boy ran a stop sign and crashed into a van carrying five special-needs adults, Hopewell Township police said. The Jersey Journal Reports.

Gary S. Brown was driving a Dodge Caravan southbound on Dublin Road when he ignored the stop sign and struck a passenger van traveling westbound on Route 546, police said.

The accident occurred around 3 p.m.

Brown, who will be issued a summons, was taken to an area hospital for minor lacerations. He was expected to be treated and released.

The van’s driver, 27-year-old Mia Doney of Trenton, and her five passengers were also taken to the hospital as a precaution, police said.

The crash is being investigated by Officer James Rosso.

Assisting at the scene were the Hopewell Valley Emergency Services, the Pennington Fire Company, the Pennington First Aid Squad, Ewing Township Emergency Services and the West Trenton Volunteer Fire Company.
