Come together and celebrate Indian culture this weekend at the Navratri and Diwali celebrations of Jersey City.
Celebrate the new year at Saraswati Cultural Association of New Jersey‘s Festival of Lights Diwali Saturday from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. atExchange Place and Grundy Pier in Jersey City.

The event will feature cultural folk dances, musical entertainment, other live performances, children’s activities, food, vendors, henna, face painting, raffles, and more. Music will range from Bollywood to classic.

There will also be a bazaar complete with clothing, costume jewelry, and other goods.

The Saraswati Cultural Association of New Jersey was founded by Anita Chadha in 1991 with the aim to bring together and enrich the local community withIndian culture.

Jersey City Cultural Affairs will sponsor Saturday’s festivities.

Jersey City Asian Merchant Association’s Navrati festival is also continuing this weekend on Friday and Saturday, and will take place on the block of 813 Newark Ave. in Jersey City.
