A man was stabbed in the neck in the Jersey City Heights early Friday morning and then walked eight blocks to the police station to report it, The Jersey Journal is reporting.

The 43-year-old man, described by police as homeless, told officers that he got into an

argument with a man he knew at 1:30 a.m. inside a South Street building. The argument escalated and when the two men were outside, the assailant pulled out a knife andstabbed the homeless man in the neck.

When the 43-year-old reached the North police station eight blocks away, an ambulance arrived and brought him to the Jersey City Medical Center-Barnabas Health, police said.

Doctors at the hospital told police the man’s injuries were not life-threatening.
