The North Jersey Chapter of the National Action Network and clergy, community members and Jersey City Anti-Violence Coalition will hold an “occupy” event in a high-crime area of Jersey City Friday night, organizers said.

The group will “Occupy” Oak Street and Martin Luther King Drive from 9 to 11 p.m. Friday, said Carolyn Oliver-Fair, president of the local chapter of the National Action Network (NAN).

The aim of the event is speak with residents and assess their needs, as well as build trust between the people and the NAN and begin to re-establish order on the streets, Oliver-Fair said.

We here at the Law Offices of Karim Arzadi commend the residents of Jersey City who are standing up and reclaiming their neighborhoods.
