Jersey City man with a broken tail light was arrested at the Holland Tunnel yesterday after police found more than a dozen containers used to hold marijuana, The Jersey Journal reports.

Anthony Singh, 27, of Stegman Parkway, was stopped near the toll lane at 10:20 a.m., Port Authority spokesman Joe Pentangelo said.

The officer noticed a “strong smell of burnt marijuana” coming from the Toyota, and Singh admitted to having the drug in his car, Pentangelo said.

Singh told the officer he “smoked recreationally.” After searching the car, the officer found 14 containers with marijuana residue and a grinder, he said.

After a computer check, it was revealed that Singh’s licence was suspended and that he had an outstanding warrant from criminal court in Newark, police said.

Singh was charged with possession of marijuanapossession of drug paraphernaliabail jumpingdriving with a suspended licence, and was also issued traffic violations.

In January, Singh was arrested by Port Authority police on drug charges and driving with a suspended license, Pentangelo said.
