A 45-year-old man told Jersey City police that a woman stabbed him during an argument inside his Beach Street apartment yesterday morning, The Jersey Journal reports.
The man was taken to Jersey City Medical Center-Barnabas Health, where he was treated for a 1-inch stab wound to his left shoulder, the report states.
Police responded to the man’s Beach Street apartment on the report of a stabbing just before 1:20 a.m. When they arrived, the victim exited his basement apartment and told them a female friend of a friend stabbed him in the shoulder during an argument, the report indicates.
He told officers the woman took off running  eastbound on Beach Street toward Summit Avenue.  But the victim only described her as a Hispanic female wearing a dress. When officers asked for her name and a more detailed description, the man said he didn’t know it and then refused to answer any more questions on the incident, the police report said.
No arrests were made, according to the report.
When officers went to check for a crime scene inside the man’s apartment, they were met by his girlfriend, who told them he had already been stabbed by the time she got home at around 12:30 a.m., according to the report.
However, the woman told police she didn’t know anything else about the incident, adding only that she had an argument with her boyfriend about “another unknown female friend whom he refused to name, the report states.
