The 40th annual state Hispanic Parade — postponed two weeks ago for a storm that never hit — will be held through three North Hudson communities this Sunday, October 18.

The theme of the parade is “United for Autism” and donations have already been made to Autism Speaks and Newark’s McKinley School, according to parade committee board member Mayra Dominguez.

The parade was originally scheduled for October 4 but was postponed because it was anticipated that

Hurricane Joaquin would clobber New Jersey.  The storm never did.

Starting at 79th Street and Bergenline Avenue in North Bergen, the parade will travel down Bergenline through West New York and end at 32nd Street in Union City.

Lieutenant Governor Kim Guadagno will be honored as “Woman of the Year” and Jersey City Mayor Steve Fulop will be honored as “Man of the Year” of the 2015 parade. Kerlyn Espinal is the Grand Marshal.
