A 38-year-old Jersey City woman got into an argument with her ex-boyfriend and smashed his face with a glass bottle Thursday night, The Jersey Journal is now reporting.

Blanca Torres, of Hague Street, was charged with aggravated assault and possession of a deadly weapon after the incident outside of the McDonald’s restaurant at Summit Avenue and Paterson Plank Road just before 10 p.m., Jersey City spokeswoman Jennifer Morrill said.

Police said the 52-year-old Union City man went to McDonald’s to charge his cell phone and eat. Torres came in and sat down with the victim and the two argued briefly before Torres left, Morrill said.

When the man left, he was confronted by Torres and this dispute ended with the man’s face being smashed with the bottle, police said. The victim was taken to Jersey City Medical Center-Barnabas Health for non life-threatening injuries.

Torres fled, but she was caught by Union City police, who contacted the Jersey City police and turned her over for processing. After the arrest, police found that Torres had an outstanding warrant from the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office.
