Former governor Jim McGreevey

The Jersey Journal is citing reports that former Gov. Jim McGreevey has moved to Jersey City, the place he was born.

McGreevey, 58, runs Jersey City’s prisoner re-entry program as executive director of the Jersey City Employment & Training Program.

His move to the city, from Plainfield, would not raise as many eyebrows if not for the whispers that he has his eye on the mayor’s seat if the current mayor, Steve Fulop, decides to run for governor.

But that’s not so, McGreevey told politickernj.com.

“It’s a coming home of sorts, and it’s not political whatsoever,” said McGreevey, who was born at Margaret Hague Maternity Hospital.
