NJ Resident Perishes in Motorcycle Crash

New Jersey is saddened to report that a resident has passed away following a recent motorcycle accident. According to federal statistics, bikers are nearly 35 times more likely to perish from a collision than motor vehicle drivers.

Crash Flips Motorcycle, Kills NJ Resident

On June 15, a collision on Route 47 killed a Middle Township resident when he flipped his motorcycle. The victim has been identified as 57-year-old Jack Pfaff. He had been riding his bike down the road when he made impact with a Mercedes ML 320. Mr. Pfaff completely lost control of the bike, and it overturned. The victim was instantly thrown from the bike and slammed into the guardrail. First responders confirmed that the victim was deceased upon their arrival, but the driver of the Mercedes was unharmed. Police closed down the road for a three-hour period to clean the debris and collect evidence. The exact cause for the collision remains unclear, and police will continue investigating the matter.

Motorcycles are inherently more dangerous to drive on the road than motor vehicles because of their tiny size, lack of protection from the road, reduced stability and required level of skill needed to maneuver. In addition, road hazards are much more likely to cause crashes, and certain motorbikes are specifically designed to encourage risky behaviors. Due to these factors, a motorcycle accident can be devastating. Despite their smaller size, other vehicles have a responsibility to watch out for motorcycles on the road. If another driver’s negligence caused your accident, then you are legally entitled to pursue compensation.
