Ernest Blair Brings A Wealth Of Litigation Experience

Ernest Blair is certified by the New Jersey Supreme Court as a Civil Trial Attorney and has extensive litigation and trial experience in Federal, Superior, Appellate and Municipal Courts. In his early career, he served as an Assistant Prosecutor in Essex County. He has also served as trial attorney in the Office of the New Jersey Solicitor for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. He is also admitted to practice in Florida, where he served as an Assistant State Attorney in Dade County and as a Senior Assistant City Attorney for Miami Beach.

Community and professional service is an important component for Ernest and he is a member of the Middlesex County Bar Association, the Middlesex County Civil Lawyer’s Committee, the Middlesex County Assignment Judge’s Lawyers’ Committee for Minority Concerns, the Middlesex County Arbitration Selection Committee, the Garden State Bar Association, the New Jersey Association for Justice, serves as a Condemnation Commissioner for Middlesex County and is a member of First Baptist Church of Lincoln Gardens.

Ernest resides in South Brunswick with his wife, Teresa, a former deputy attorney general and is the proud father of three children, Danielle, Ernest, Jr. and Aaren. One of the hallmarks of Ernest’s career is that he believes in keeping the common touch with clients no matter how big or small the case.

Representative Cases

• $800,000 verdict in wrongful termination case in approximately 2003. The client was a victim of age discrimination. Many notable wins as the trial attorney for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey from 1990 to 1997. Also, while serving as a Senior Assistant Attorney for Miami Beach from 1985 to 1987 was able to remove all legal roadblocks for the demolition of a derelict hotel on Miami Beach which had been mired in legal entanglements for a decade.
